Jim grew up in Rochester, New York and moved to Oxford in 1974. A resident of Oxford, Ohio for more than 38 years, Jim has strong ties to Oxford and surrounding communities in Ohio and Indiana. His practice includes assisting clients with estate planning and estates, elder law, probate, and business organization, as well as real estate matters. Jim is legal counsel to several local non-profit organizations. Active in the community and charitable causes, Jim was a founding member of the Oxford Community Foundation and the Oxford Chamber of Commerce and served as the first President of those organizations. He currently chairs the Foundation's Mile Square Initiative to help revitalize Oxford's Mile Square. He also served as a member of the Board of Directors of the McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital. Jim taught Business Law at Miami University and served as an acting Judge on the Butler County Court. He is a Lifetime Member of the Oxford Branch of the NAACP. Jim is also active in the legal community. He is a current member of the Board of Directors of the Butler County Bar Association. He is a past President of that organization. Jim also serves as a member of the Butler County Bar Association Certified Grievance Committee, and chairs the Bar Association's Continuing Legal Education Committee. Jim was recently appointed to the Ohio State Bar Association's Task Force on Judicial Selection. He previously served on the Supreme Court of Ohio's Committee on Creeds of Professionalism. |
